The army used land and air units, with the latter utilizing transport and fighter models that were also seen in the Imperial Navy. As time went by, new designs were made to supplant the Republic-era equipment and expand the Army itself. In the years following the Wars, the Army used equipment and vehicles from units of the Old Republic. The Imperial Army was created from the Grand Army of the Republic following the end of the Clone Wars.
